Program Overview 

Marketing is the business function that identifies and anticipates customers’ needs and wants, creates products to satisfy those desires, and then delivers those products through various techniques of pricing, distribution and promotion. 

The marketing major in Stonehill's Meehan School of Business  is designed to provide the knowledge and experience students need to launch into a marketing career as well as the critical thinking skills they will need as they advance to more senior management positions. A marketing degree can be applied in numerous specialized institutions, such as:

Marketing Research

MKT 341
This course discusses the tools and techniques available for gathering, analyzing, and using information to aid marketing decision making. It covers topics such as problem definition, research design formulation, measurement, research instrument development, sampling techniques, data collection, data interpretation and analysis, and presentation of research findings. Skills acquired are used in a survey research project.

Sport Marketing

MKT 348
This course examines the marketing of sports products and marketing through sports, or how companies use sports platforms to brand and market their products. Content specific to sports includes fan behavior, sponsorship, leveraging, licensing, and endorsements. Marketing strategies will incorporate traditional segmentation, targeting, positioning, and marketing mix components.

Digital Marketing & Entrepreneurial Strategies

MKT 443
This course discusses digital marketing strategies and electronic commerce, including the process of buying and selling goods, providing services, and managing information over networks and within organizations. It covers the marketing of goods and services using digital channels and tools, including websites, social media, and mobile applications. The course also covers major considerations for entrepreneurs and small business owners when choosing and using technology.

Global Marketing

MKT 448
This course covers the marketing of goods and services in the international environment, the activities that take place within the firm preparing to enter the international marketplace, and the issues relevant to coordinating the marketing activities of the multinational corporation. It emphasizes the cultural, economic, and political factors affecting marketing strategies. Has extensive use of case studies.

The Skyhawk Accelerated Dual Degree allows Stonehill students to earn a bachelor's degree and master's degree in as little as four years. Eligible students receive early and expedited admission to their graduate program of interest and can begin working toward a master's degree in marketing or data analytics.
