The Office of Academic Advising is here to assist students during their journey through college. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you would like to clarify a policy or procedure, explore majors, learn how to manage your time and course load, select courses for next semester, discuss academic challenges or strategize for academic success.
Whether you have questions regarding classes to take next semester, which major is right for you, policies and procedures, we encourage students to contact us at any time of the year to schedule a meeting with an academic advisor.
Academic advising at Stonehill is not limited to course selection. Each advising interaction is an opportunity for us to empower students towards academic engagement and success.
Academic Policies and Procedures
The Office of Academic Advising provides consultations on Academic Policies to both faculty and students. The Hill Book serves as the online, accredited version of the Stonehill College Academic Catalog. This essential resource contains useful information about the College’s academic programs, partnerships, degree requirements, course offerings, grading policy, and College's academic procedures and resources.
If a student is facing an issue or difficulty that is affecting your academic performance, The Office of Academic Advising can provide direct support as well as facilitate the appropriate connections across campus.
First-Generation Scholar Program (FGSP)
First-Generation Scholar Program (FGSP) is a collaborative, interdivisional initiative that provides robust academic oversight, while also connecting students with other offices on campus. The Office of Academic Advising launched this program during the 2019-2020 academic year as a way to get first-generation students better connected on campus.
Major Exploration and Selection Support
With 80 majors or minors and programs in the businesses, sciences or humanities, you have many possibilities from which to choose. We have identified some strategies to help you make an informed decision about the most appropriate and fulfilling program(s) to pursue. Students considering a double major are encouraged to schedule an appointment with an advisor to assist in the drafting of a four year plan that will ultimately be submitted to the individual department chairs.
Transfer Student Advising
The Office of Academic Services and Advising works in concert with the Office of Admission and the Registrar to support students that have been admitted to Stonehill from other colleges and universities.
The Office of Academic Advising coordinates all of the College's resources to focus on and advocate for individual student success. The office provides students with information on academic programs, majors and minors, as well as aids students facing difficulties, academic or otherwise.
