Colleges of Distinction has recognized Stonehill College for the comprehensive and high-impact majors in its Meehan School of Business.

"Before granting awards, we conduct a thorough evaluation of the programs. We look for qualities such as accreditation, program breadth, advising and mentoring, integration of career services, and successful student outcomes,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer for the organization, which advocates for schools whose undergraduate experiences are grounded in a philosophy of well-rounded, individualized engagement. “It's truly remarkable to see how Stonehill College exemplifies these qualities, particularly within the realm of business and management."

To earn the recognition, Stonehill demonstrated the following markers of quality:

Since its launch in 2019, the Meehan School has continued to grow stronger, steadily adding new programs and retooling existing ones to best prepare graduates for emerging opportunities in their field.

Stonehill College is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. In addition, its healthcare management program is one of only 46 programs certified in the country, and it is the only certified program in Massachusetts.

The school offers majors and minors in accounting, finance, international business, management, marketing and sports management. It also has minors in data analytics and entrepreneurship. Students in all disciplines have coursework that strengthen quantitative and qualitative analysis, critical thinking and leadership skills.

Students in the Meehan School are offered numerous experiential learning opportunities, including the Stonehill College Inspire Finance Initiatives (SCIFI), along with internships, co-ops, global placements, networking events and research.

Students within the Meehan School of Business are able to collaborate with others both in and out of their majors through projects such as Learning Communities and the SCIFI Academic Program, which bring together students from across all disciplines at the College.

Stonehill’s undergraduate programs in business are grounded in business ethics. Students learn how a company’s obligations extend beyond its shareholders and into a greater ecosystem of customers, employees, investors, communities, suppliers and the environment.

The Meehan School of Business supports students with high-quality academic advising and career advising resources through the College’s Navigation Center for Student Success.

Students in the Meehan School of Business enhance their undergraduate studies with high-impact practices such as undergraduate research, global learning, first-year experiences and Community-Based Learning opportunities.

Students enrolled in the Meehan School of Business have numerous opportunities to build professional connections in their field through career fairs, major-specific guest speakers, alumni networking events, faculty connections and career development services.

"Globalization and the complexities of modern business operations demand effective communication and strong problem-solving strategies,” said Schritter. “Stonehill 's programs equip future leaders with adaptability as they evolve alongside their industries."
