Career Development During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The pandemic has altered recruiting practices, and presented new questions and challenges. We will provide updated information here as things continue to evolve.

Career Development Center

The Career Development Center (CDC) at Stonehill College recognizes the individuality and unique needs of each student, graduate and employer, and is committed to flexible and personalized engagements.

  • Job & Internship Expo - Spring 2020

Representatives from over 60 organizations will be on-hand, providing information and answering questions about internships and full-time jobs.

  • Think. Act. Lead. Planning Conference

This conference will help you create a plan for your remaining time at Stonehill as well as help you take steps forward in planning for your life after Stonehill.

  • Career Development Resources

The Career Development Center offers abundant resources to help you explore different career paths and discover your own career aspirations.

Our team’s approach combines individualized career advising with a wide variety of innovative programs and opportunities that empower student development and self-discovery. Our primary goal is to collaborate with the larger Stonehill Community to ensure the professional fulfillment of our graduates in their first destination and beyond.

Resume Labs were a great success last year, and we will continue to offer them in 2020-2021. You no longer need to book an appointment or wait during drop-ins for a resume review.  Resume Labs increase access to Career Advisors and cut down your wait-times!

Resume Labs will run Monday through Friday, and will be held via Zoom in fall 2020. To find a Lab that works for you, check the “Events” section of Handshake. Drop into any Resume Lab and be ready to learn how to create one, or edit yours right then and there.  We will share screens and discuss edits in the group so everyone learns from each other. These are not private one-on-one conversations, but group advising and shared learning experiences. Resume Labs have an “open-door policy” – arrive and leave whenever you wish during the advertised times.

One of our Career Advisors as well as a student Career Ambassador will staff every Lab.  They will review your resume, walk through edits, and coach you on proper formatting and writing effective bullet points. When you finish, you should have an edited resume that has been uploaded to your Handshake profile, and a staff member should have approved it in the system, allowing you to apply for all opportunities.

All dates, times, and appropriate Zoom links to the Resume Labs will be posted and kept up-to-date in Handshake under the Events tab.
