Meet the Newest Members of Stonehill College’s Academic Community

Coley’s research interests include racial capitalism, socio-spatial inequalities, public policy and social movements. As an urban sociologist and public scholar, their current program of research examines how working-class communities experience and resist gentrification and other urban processes. 

Prior to Stonehill, Fogelman taught at both the elementary and secondary levels as a dedicated science educator, instructional coach and curriculum developer in New York City and Greater Boston. She also brings a unique industry perspective to her pedagogy, having begun her early career as a research scientist at Kraft Foods.

Ingall’s research is within mathematical logic in a field called reverse mathematics, where she analyzes the logical strength of theorems within analysis and topology. She also pursues her creative interests as a playwright and performer. In particular, she continues to develop Problem Set, a play about mathematics that she originally created as part of her undergraduate capstone project.

Kisla is a registered dietitian nutritionist with over a decade of experience across community nutrition, public health, food service, private practice, health equity and academia. Her diverse background includes roles in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, Meals on Wheels, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Diabetes Prevention Program, and her own private practice. 

Lanois began his career as an athletic trainer. He then served as a clinical research specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he collaborated with physicians and researchers from various institutions and universities on National Institutes of Health-funded research investigating physiological and biomechanical measures to evaluate concussions and their recovery. He has also worked at various academic institutions, teaching courses in biology and health science departments.

McGerigle's diverse body of work spans ballet, opera, musical theatre, plays, film and live events. A sought-after designer, he has collaborated with Tony and Grammy Award winners, museums, national tours, and premiere productions.

Pelgrim’s research has examined topics ranging from how dogs interpret human pointing gestures to how they perceive and attend to their real-world visual environments. She developed a novel head-mounted mobile eye-tracking method for studying dogs.

Reynolds has lived and worked on farms in Kentucky, Iowa, Hawaii, Ireland, Italy and Massachusetts. This firsthand exposure to such varied climates, soil types and agricultural traditions has shaped her adaptable, systems-based approach to farm management and deepened her appreciation for the ways small-scale farming can be tailored to a given region's resources and community needs.

Previously, Wilmot worked in the air quality and contamination control industry. His career and research interests range from controlled environments engineering to extremophile bacteria biology.

Farajzadeh’s research centers on decision intelligence, combining prescriptive analytics (operations research) and predictive analytics (machine learning), informed by descriptive and qualitative insights, to address operational challenges impacting society. She is passionate about translating theoretical and methodological rigor into meaningful learning experiences.

Before transitioning to academia, Peterson spent five years in the assurance practice at Deloitte & Touche. Her professional experience also includes accounting and finance roles with a venture capital fund and a social media startup, as well as compliance and internal controls responsibilities for a national retail food chain. 

Her professional experience includes serving as a senior economist at a leading global commercial real estate services and investment firm for over a decade. She also held research positions at State Street and Acadian Asset Management, where she worked on creating trading strategies and designing models to mitigate portfolio risk exposure.

Heering has over a decade of experience in nursing education. She has served as a clinical instructor across a variety of nursing courses and has experience supervising students in hospital-based clinical settings, helping them integrate classroom knowledge with hands-on patient care. Prior to her career in nursing education, she worked as a registered nurse in the hospital setting.

Sweck has taught as an adjunct professor at Rhode Island College and the Community College of Rhode Island. Across these institutions, a large proportion of her students have been first-year undergraduates pursuing nursing and other health professions, and she brings a deep understanding of both the rigor the material demands and the particular needs of students on a healthcare pathway.
