Biography

Jing Ren brings a background in commercial real estate and quantitative finance to Stonehill College’s Meehan School of Business, where she shares her expertise in applied econometrics, financial theory, and urban economics across the finance curriculum.

Her professional experience includes serving as a Senior Economist at CBRE for over a decade, where she provided forecasts and strategic advice to real estate investors. By developing quantitative models to forecast capitalization rates, investment returns, and property values, she translated research insights into actionable investment strategies. She also held research positions at State Street and Acadian Asset Management, where she worked on creating trading strategies and designing models to mitigate portfolio risk exposure.

Her research focuses on two primary areas: financial stability and urban economics. Regarding the former, her work on "Interconnected Bank Networks: Shock Amplifiers or Absorbers in the Financial System?" examines how co-lending activities in syndicated loan markets influence systemic risk and is published in the International Review of Economics and Finance (2025). In the field of urban economics, her research on "Robots and the Demand for Industrial Space" examines the impact of automation on U.S. real estate markets and was featured as an MIT Center for Real Estate Research Paper (No. 20/08).
