Corrie E Ingall

Biography

Corrie Ingall teaches mathematics courses at Stonehill College. She earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Connecticut in 2026. As an undergraduate at College of the Atlantic, she focused on interdisciplinary studies exploring the intersections between mathematics and theatre. Afterwards, Ingall participated in the post-baccalaureate program in mathematics within the Center for Women in Mathematics at Smith College and then completed a M.A. in mathematics at Wake Forest University.

Ingall was selected as a 2026–2027 Project NExT fellow by the Mathematics Association of America, joining a community of recent Ph.D. graduates committed to innovation in mathematics education. During the 2025 Ph.D.s 2026 academic year at the University of Connecticut, she worked as a Mathematics Teaching Innovation Fellow, implementing course improvements to boost student engagement in calculus. In addition, she received the 2024 Louis J. DeLuca Memorial Teaching Award from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Connecticut for excellence in teaching.

Outside of the classroom, Ingall spent four years organizing the Mathematics Continued Conference at the University of Connecticut. This undergraduate math conference demonstrates to students what advanced mathematics is like and helps them find paths to pursue their mathematical aspirations.

Her research is within mathematical logic in a field called reverse mathematics, where she analyzes the logical strength of theorems within analysis and topology. Her paper “Properties of Range Sets of Continuous Functions in Reverse Mathematics” was published in Lecture Notes in Computer Science in 2025.

Ingall also pursues her creative interests as a playwright and performer. In particular, she continues to develop Problem Set, a play about mathematics that she originally created as part of her undergraduate capstone project.
