Biography
Janet Peterson, C.P.A., is a Professor of Practice in Accounting & Taxation at Stonehill College, where she joined the faculty in 2023. Prior to Stonehill, she served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at Providence College and taught accounting as an adjunct faculty member at Curry College and Babson University.
In addition to her academic role, she is a part-time consultant with Jacob Meadow Associates, a technology advisory firm, and operates her own accounting practice specializing in financial statement compilations, internal controls and financial modeling.
Before transitioning to academia, Peterson spent five years in the Assurance practice at Deloitte & Touche. Her professional experience also includes accounting and finance roles with a venture capital fund and a social media startup, as well as compliance and internal controls responsibilities for a national retail food chain. This combination of public accounting, corporate finance, consulting and teaching enables her to bring practical, real-world insights into the classroom.
