Biography

Corey Lanois began his career as an athletic trainer. He earned a B.S. in Athletic Training from Northeastern University, graduating summa cum laude. He went on to earn an M.S. from Illinois State University, where he also worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer providing athletic healthcare for the Men and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country teams. The Rhode Island native then worked as an athletic trainer at Harvard University.

Lanois then served as a clinical research specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital. There, he worked with physicians and researchers from various institutions and universities conducting National Institutes of Health-funded research investigating physiological and biomechanical measures to evaluate concussions and their recovery.

Lanois then pursued a doctoral degree at Northeastern University. Working within a biomechanics lab, his research focused on the relation between ultrasound measurements of knee cartilage and walking patterns in individuals with knee osteoarthritis. During this time, he contributed to various projects within the lab and presented at several conferences. His presentation to the World Congress on Osteoarthritis received the Highest Rated Abstract Award by the Osteoarthritis Research Society International.

Before completing his Ph.D. in Human Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences, he began teaching as an adjunct professor. His passion for educating led him to continue serving as an adjunct throughout his research and doctoral studies. He has worked at various institutions teaching courses in biology and health science departments.
