Jelder Deleon ’29 and Rickenson Guerrier ’27 have been named to the Fidelity Scholars Program (FSP), a collaboration between Fidelity Investments and the UNCF. The program supports students from under-resourced backgrounds by promoting persistence and success in higher education.

Deleon, a criminology major, noted that being selected not only means a lot to him, but also his parents.

“They have always encouraged me to further my education since they never had the chance to do so themselves,” he said. “Receiving this honor has offered me the privilege to do just that and to make my parents proud.”

Guerrier, a communication major with a data analytics minor, expressed his excitement about being chosen for the program.

“As an immigrant, I was taught that hard work leads to opportunity, and that’s something you can never let go,” he said. “I am grateful that I’ve been given this chance, which will help me to continue my education.”

As Fidelity Scholars, Deleon and Guerrier will participate in various initiatives designed to further the FSP mission. These include campus visits with both Fidelity and Stonehill staff to help create supportive networks; monthly workshops addressing financial literacy, career readiness and other topics; mentoring sessions designed to provide tailored guidance; and monthly meetings with a college success coach.

“Congratulations to Jelder and Rickenson for being selected as Fidelity Scholars,” said Pauline Burke, Stonehill’s vice president for student affairs. “I am excited to witness how they grow through this program and apply their experiences to their academic and professional journeys.”

Deleon and Guerrier’s participation in the FSP marks the latest milestone in Stonehill’s longstanding relationship with Fidelity. Staff from the firm have served as guest speakers at the Meehan School of Business through Mass Fintech Hub. Additionally, many Stonehill graduates have gone on to work for the organization, either as interns or full-time employees
