Stonehill College Names New Associate Deans
Announcing the new Associate Dean of the May School of Arts & Sciences and Associate Dean of the Meehan School of Business.
Stonehill College has appointed Kristin Burkholder, Ph.D., as the Associate Dean of the Thomas & Donna May School of Arts & Sciences, and Michael Salé, D.P.S., as the Associate Dean of the Leo J. Meehan School of Business.
“Kristin and Michael bring a remarkable combination of leadership experience and enthusiasm for Stonehill and our faculty and students,” said Peter Ubertaccio, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs. “They are trusted colleagues who will help guide our schools through a time of change and opportunity, and I’m thrilled to welcome them into these critical new roles.”

A scientist committed to helping create a more just and compassionate world, Burkholder joined the Stonehill faculty in 2012.
Throughout her time on campus, Burkholder has held such titles as chair of the Environmental Sciences and Studies Department, Rank and Tenure Committee member, Faculty Senate member, General Education Committee member, faculty athletic representative and team faculty liaison for the women’s ice hockey team.
Burkholder earned a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from Duke University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Bucknell University.
“I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to serve as the new Associate Dean of the May School of Arts and Sciences,” Burkholder said. “The May School is a special place—one that pushes students to think deeply, engage with the world in new ways and grow as people. It will be a privilege to collaborate with the school’s dedicated faculty and staff in shaping the next chapter of this amazing institution.”

An information technology management/consulting professional known for his tireless dedication to student success, Salé was first hired by the College in 2007 as a part-time faculty member. He was later appointed a full-time faculty member in 2014.
Over the years, he has served Stonehill in numerous capacities, including as chair of the Department of Management & Business Analytics, director of the Management Information Systems and Data Analytics programs, president of Faculty Senate, and faculty advisor for Stonehill’s Distributed Education Clubs of America (DECA) chapter, among other roles.
Salé holds a D.P.S. in Computing from Pace University, as well as M.S. in Management and B.S. in Management Information Systems degrees from Bridgewater State College.
“I’m incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as Associate Dean of the Meehan School of Business,” Salé said. “I feel blessed to work in a community shaped by the Holy Cross mission, where we educate not just for careers, but for lives of meaning. I’m excited to support Dean John Duggan by championing innovation, fostering collaboration, and advancing the transformative ideas that will move Meehan forward.”
