Chip Salyards ’88 International Studies Stipend is awarded to a student seeking a Study Abroad experience who may need additional financial support. Administered by Stonehill’s Office of International Programs, recipients of Chip’s stipend will embody his exceptional zest for life.

Through a stipend of $1,000 per recipient, this award can help connect the dots to strengthen their experience overseas for students who might otherwise be unable to afford a study abroad experience.

Chip’s desire to experience the incredible joy and excitement that international travel offers was contagious, and in establishing this fund, Maggie and LT hope to further that joy and happiness in young students at Stonehill College.

About Chip

Chip attended Stonehill College where he played football and earned a BA in Communications. He graduated from Stonehill in 1988 and remained an engaged alum of the College—serving as an assistant football coach, participating in Career Fairs, attending events, and giving back to his alma mater.

International travel was a significant part of Chip’s personal and professional life. Having traveled to over 50 countries during his lifetime, Chip spent nine years based in Singapore during his career at BMC Software.
