Stonehill College has nearly 300 endowed and restricted scholarships, and this number continues to grow each year thanks to our generous donors.

Scholarships come from gifts made to the College endowment or from annual gifts by donors.

Creating a Legacy

Many scholarships reflect donor legacy by identifying qualification criteria based on academic standing, major of study, or extracurricular involvement.

Donor legacy becomes student opportunity – paving the way to educational access and post graduate success.

Being a first-generation college student is truly a blessing, and I have shared this dream with my family for a very long time. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of benefactors, my lifelong dream is now a reality. Thanks to you, I was able to fund my college education. My family and I are so touched and moved by your generosity.

This scholarship means to me that I will go out into my low-income neighborhood and live out what I have learned at Stonehill. Also, to my family it means that I had the opportunity to further my education, and better myself. I would like to thank all of the benefactors who have made my education here at Stonehill possible.

Gratitude from Scholarship Recipients

“This scholarship means that I'm allowed to go to my dream college without having to worry about how I'll pay full tuition and this means I'll be the first in my family to attend an American college and be the first to graduate. I would like to say thank you for acknowledging and accepting my hard work and efforts. As a black man sometimes it's hard to see the end goal and what your efforts will do to help because people belittle you, they don't see you as more than your skin color and they want to see you fail. Knowing that someone out there is watching over me and helping me become a better me and a successful person is reassuring and it shows that my work wasn't a waste.”

“Words cannot express how truly grateful I am for the scholarship support, as without it I would not be able to financially afford my attendance at Stonehill. Prior to receiving the financial assistance, my family bared the burden of guilt through not being able to assist in furthering my education. Once finding out I had received the scholarships, a tremendous weight was lifted off my shoulders, as well as, my entire family. Finishing up my senior year and being the first one in my family to graduate college, especially with completing a double major and a minor, is truly an honor of which I dreamt about since a young girl. The achievements I have made thus far can only be accredited to the assistance I have received through scholarship support from Stonehill.”

“Having the opportunity to receive these scholarships means a lot to me and my family. My family moved to the United States from Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. As a single mom, it is difficult for my mother to pay tuition for two college students. Receiving these scholarships from Stonehill has alleviated a lot of stress on my family. It has also allowed me to focus more on my studies as I do not have to work as much.”

“To my family and me, scholarship support means so much. We truly believe that because we benefit from this award, we know that we are being looked after and are supported in a place that we never thought could be. We are so grateful Stonehill has given me this opportunity to live on campus and be a part of such a loving community. Receiving the May Family Scholarship is a blessing to us, and we are so grateful for it. If it weren't for this scholarship, I honestly, don't know if I would be where I am today. I constantly push through the adversities I face, whether that be academically or financially. My family and I send so much appreciation to the May Family!"

“Scholarship support means so much to me for many reasons. Many of my family members attended Stonehill before me, including my father, brother, uncles, and aunts. Receiving a scholarship for my hard work really feels like I am making them proud, and continuing the hard work that they put in at Stonehill. I cannot explain how much I appreciate my scholarship support, because it makes me feel that I am balancing my life between schoolwork and sports very well.”

“I want to express my gratitude toward my benefactor for providing me the funds I received from my scholarship. When I was notified that I received this scholarship, I felt overjoyed and honored. This scholarship assisted in fulfilling my dream of attending college to study my intended career field within psychology, while also continuing to explore who I am as a person and continue to grow. As a first-generation college student, I want to continue to make my family and community proud of me as I begin my future endeavors in college and beyond. Essentially, receiving this scholarship means so much to me, and I will persist in focusing on my academics for my future career and continue to positively shape my character to become a better person within my community and the world."
