Students in the Performing Arts major – Music concentration and the Music minor experience classes and ensembles that inspire creativity and maximize their potential guided by faculty who provide individual coaching and instruction.
Students in the Music program have the chance to immerse themselves in a variety of musical experiences:
The Performing Arts major with a concentration in Music requires the completion of eight courses plus nine additional credits of performance-based work.
The Music minor requires the completion of 18 credits.

Stonehill moved up 62 places in this year’s WSJ “America’s Best Colleges 2024” rankings, putting it in the top 12 among Massachusetts schools and top 6% nationally.
After considering input from 165,000 students at colleges and universities across the country, The Princeton Review recently ranked Stonehill College 19th out of 389 schools for quality of life.
Less than 20% of the 700 schools on Money’s 2023 Best College list, including Stonehill, received 4.5 stars or higher in the magazine’s 5-star rating system.
The Music program sponsors both large and small performance opportunities:
Founded in 1986, the Stonehill Collegiate Chorale is comprised of Stonehill undergraduates, faculty, staff and experienced singers from the local community.
Students have interned with Life Care Centers of America, Bristol Recording Studios in Boston, and Colors Worldwide in Los Angeles.
The Stonehill Career Development team offers extensive assistance to students seeking employment, pursuing advanced studies or participating in postgraduate service opportunities. By completing internships and utilizing mentors, students are empowered to build lifelong career management skills.

The music program at Stonehill has encouraged me to continue my development as a pianist. The ensembles I’ve played in concern themselves not only with the technical aspects of music, but also with the innate joy of creating and sharing it.
