The health science major is for students interested in allied health professional careers such as nurse/nurse practitioner, physical therapist, and physician assistant. This major prepares our students to successfully begin the journey of building a career in the growing field of health care.

Affiliated Health Science Agreements

Stonehill College has developed agreements with colleges and universities that enable our students to augment the degree they earn at Stonehill with graduate degrees that further enhance their opportunities. Partnerships of benefit to health science students include:

Biotechnology, Exercise Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Public Health

Northeastern University offers many graduate programs and welcomes Stonehill College students to any of these newer and exciting programs through their Bouve College of Health Sciences.

Dental Medicine

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and Stonehill College have arranged for five qualified Stonehill students each year to earn early acceptance into the Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree Program at LECOM’s campus in Bradenton, Florida.

Direct-Entry Nurse Practitioner/MSN

Students who complete their undergraduate degree at Stonehill College and meet program requirements will be offered direct-entry admission to the Simmons Master of Science in Nursing Program.

Nuclear Medicine Technology

Stonehill College Biology, Biochemistry and Interdisciplinary Sciences-Health Science programs meet the requirements necessary for this post-graduate career in Nuclear Medicine Technology at Regis College.

Nursing

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Worcester, has a 16-month accelerated post-baccalaureate Nursing program for Stonehill College applicants who have met all pre-professional course requirements and wish to become registered nurses.

Optometrist

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) University–Worcester and Stonehill College have arranged for the assured admission of three qualified Stonehill students each year to the Doctor of Optometry (OD) Program at MCPHS–Worcester.

Pharmacy

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Worcester, has established a set of criteria that will enable qualified Stonehill College students to enter into their Doctor of Pharmacy accelerated (PharmD) Program.

Physician

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and Stonehill College have arranged for five qualified Stonehill students each year to earn early acceptance into the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree Program at the LECOM campus of their choice and at its associated clinical training sites.

Physician Assistant

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) University–Worcester and Stonehill College have arranged for the assured admission of up to three qualified Stonehill students each year to the 24-month Master of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies Program at the Worcester campus.

Speech-Language Pathology

Stonehill College and Northeastern University have arranged for the preferred admission of qualified Stonehill students each year to the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology Program at Northeastern.
