How Does the Selection Process Work?

At the end of the spring semester, Professor Shane and the student co-director(s) begin a review of the applications. In May, we follow up with the applicants with questions or to learn more about their ideas as needed. (The more promptly applicants can answer questions we might have, the faster the process can go.)

Our goal is to select an interesting, diverse group of classes. Since there are more applicants than spots, we will often ask all applicants for input on the proposed topics so that your collective student perspectives can help inform our decisions as we narrow down the proposals.

We aim to let students know by no later than the beginning of the summer (mid-June) whether their classes have been selected.
