At the Office of Health and Wellness, we hope to create a safe space for students to explore health, wellness, and self-advocacy through destigmatizing mental health and utilizing harm reduction practices.
College is an exciting experience, and we're so happy you're here! You should be so proud of all the hard work that has brought you here. Throughout your time at Stonehill, we hope you build lifelong friendships, create core memories, and find new passions, all while prioritizing your health and wellness. This is a transitional period of life, so if you need any support along the way, don't hesitate to reach out - we are here for you!
Services Provided
We are a private resource for students and are available to discuss a variety of topics including but not limited to: general wellness, stress and time management, sleep hygiene, self-care, sexual health and consent, substance use, or relationship/roommate tips. We also offer referrals to other campus supports including Counseling Services, Health Services, our Registered Dietician, Accessibility Services, Tutoring, OIA, Financial Aid, and more!
We can present to classes or clubs on a variety of topics including but not limited to:
- Stress Reduction and Relaxation Techniques
- Wellness After College
- Mental Health & Wellness Resources
- Consent
- Healthy Relationships
- How to Help a Friend
If you would like to request a presentation or training please email wellness@stonehill.edu.
We have a collection of books in our office on topics including but not limited to: self-care, sports nutrition, substance use, habits, mental health, etc. We also have a wide variety of pamphlets, brochures, handouts and other psychoeducational materials. Students are encouraged to stop by and borrow books, browse our resources, and ask questions!
We help sponsor campus wide events which focus on specific health issues such as: Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in September, Alcohol Awareness Week in October, the Great American Smoke Out in November, Finals Stress Management in December, Eating Disorders Awareness Week in February, Safe Spring Break in March and Sexual Assault Prevention in April. Health and Wellness Office
The Office of Health and Wellness offers information on how to live a healthy lifestyle and make positive behavior choices. The office promotes the health and wellbeing of students through prevention of illness, injury and disease, and through raising awareness of issues affecting the students mind, body and spirit.
Health Services
The Office of Health Services offers confidential medical care to all full-time Stonehill students. Its staff includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants and a part-time physician.
