Stonehill Wellness PEERS (Providing Education, Encouragement, Resources, and Support) are undergraduate student volunteers through the Health and Wellness Center. PEERS are trained in health and wellness topics such as suicide prevention, bystander intervention, Mental Health First Aid, substance use safety, healthy relationships, and more. They use this knowledge to host wellness events on campus throughout the year, inclduing Wellness Office Hours, where they can informally chat with students. Wellness PEERS meet regularly with the Wellness Coordinator to ensure they are supported in the work they are doing.

The Wellness PEERS program has been confirmed as meeting the Experiential Education Guarantee (EEG) requirement for all students. EEGs have a 50-hour commitment, so the program will require at least 50 hours of your time over the fall semester (including the full day of training in the summer), and students are welcome to continue with the program in the spring if they want to stay involved in wellness.

Examples of wellness programming conducted by PEERS include:

  • Wellness Office Hours
  • Stress-Free Finals
  • Wellness Pop-ups
  • Substance Use Safety
  • Healthy Relationship Workshops
  • How to Help a Friend
