Three Stonehill faculty members earned distinguished recognition this spring at award ceremonies hosted by the Office of Academic Affairs.  

Leadership, Mentorship and Industry Engagement

Professor Stephanie Parrillo received the Award for Excellence in Teaching by Adjunct Faculty, which celebrates the dedication and expertise that part-time faculty bring to campus.

In a citation conferring the award, President John Denning, C.S.C., and Vice President for Academic Affairs Peter Ubertaccio highlighted Parrillo’s energy, authenticity and deep knowledge.

“Her impact on students and on the Sport Management program extends far beyond the classroom,” they said. “Through her leadership, mentorship and industry engagement, she has served as a vital bridge between Stonehill College and the professional sport industry."

Professor Robin Goldberg received the Award for Excellence in Advising & Mentoring, which recognizes a faculty member who goes above and beyond to foster the academic, professional and personal growth of each student.

In a citation, President Denning and Vice President Ubertaccio referenced the many ways she cultivates collaboration and positivity through her interactions with students. 

“Robin Goldberg exemplifies the spirit of the Award for Excellence in Advising and Mentoring through her enduring commitment to student-centered guidance grounded in care, clarity and purpose,” they said.

Professor José Luis Martínez

Professor José Luis Martínez received the Outstanding Faculty Service Leadership Award in recognition of the ways he embodies light and hope.

In a citation, President Denning and Vice President Ubertaccio referred to him as someone who views service as essential to his vocation.

“What distinguishes Professor Martínez’s service is both its breadth and its spirit,” they said. “He leads collaboratively, builds bridges across divisions and ensures that Stonehill’s mission is lived out in meaningful, daily ways.”
