The Award for Excellence in Teaching by Adjunct Faculty is given to a part-time faculty member to acknowledge the invaluable dedication and expertise that adjunct faculty bring to our classrooms and to recognize the impact they have on our students' lives. Stonehill College is proud to bestow the Spring 2026 Award for Excellence in Teaching by Adjunct Faculty on Professor Stephanie Parrillo.

Stephanie has been an invaluable member of the Sport Management faculty, where she teaches Introduction to Sport Management, Sport Event Management, and Sport Sales and Sponsorship. Students consistently describe Stephanie’s classes as engaging, relevant, and inspiring. Her energy, authenticity, and deep industry knowledge bring course content to life and reflect the mission of the Meehan School of Business by connecting academic learning to professional practice with care, creativity, and purpose.

Her impact on students and on the Sport Management program extends far beyond the classroom. Through her leadership, mentorship, and industry engagement, she has served as a vital bridge between Stonehill College and the professional sport industry.

During a period when the department was without dedicated full-time faculty members, Stephanie’s commitment ensured continuity, stability, and a high-quality student experience for more than 100 Sport Management majors. She became a central source of guidance for students seeking advice on internships, networking, and career pathways. Despite the demands of her executive role, she consistently made time to review resumes, connect students with professional opportunities, and offer thoughtful career counsel. For many students, she became the primary resource for navigating the sport industry and preparing for life after Stonehill.

In her Sport Event Management course, Stephanie designed an innovative experiential learning project that resulted in a campus-wide Sport Business Career Fair. Planned and executed entirely by students under her guidance, the event brought industry professionals to campus and provided invaluable networking opportunities. This signature project exemplifies Stephanie’s ability to integrate hands-on learning with professional development while empowering students to apply classroom concepts in meaningful, real-world contexts.

As Vice President of Special Events and Community Initiatives for the Providence Bruins, the top affiliate of the Boston Bruins, Stephanie brings exceptional professional insight to her teaching. She oversees major community partnerships and events, including initiatives connected to the Boston Bruins Foundation. She also creates ongoing opportunities for Stonehill students to gain authentic industry experience by working game-day events with the Providence Bruins, experiences that have launched many successful careers in sport.

And so, with deep pride, we confer the Spring 2026 Award for Excellence in Teaching by Adjunct Faculty to you, Professor Stephanie Parrillo, for your tireless service, consistent example, and exemplary contributions to Stonehill College.

Given this 14th day of April,
