The Award for Excellence in Advising & Mentoring recognizes a faculty member who goes above and beyond in fostering the academic, professional, and personal growth of each student. Their advising transcends individual meetings, creating a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel empowered to explore their potential. This individual cultivates a spirit of collaboration and positivity, and their dedication, empathy, and inspiring approach embody the Light and Hope at the heart of Stonehill, leaving a lasting impression on the lives of their advisees and the campus community as a whole. In 2026, Stonehill College is proud to bestow the Award for Excellence in Advising & Mentoring on Professor Robin Goldberg.

Robin Goldberg exemplifies the spirit of the Award for Excellence in Advising and Mentoring through her enduring commitment to student-centered guidance grounded in care, clarity, and purpose. From her earliest days as an adjunct faculty member to her current leadership as Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders, she has consistently embodied Stonehill’s mission of educating with Light and Hope.

Robin’s advising is marked by intention and an unwavering focus on student growth. She provides steady, informed guidance as students navigate a demanding curriculum and prepare for graduate study and professional licensure. Her mentoring extends well beyond course selection, supporting students through complex application processes, clinical requirements, and career discernment with insight and compassion. She challenges students to understand not only what is required of them, but who they are called to become as future speech-language pathologists.

As Department Chair, Robin has cultivated a comprehensive advising culture that integrates academic rigor, professional preparation, and personal formation. She has played a central role in building and sustaining the program, guiding each cohort with care and clarity and ensuring that students feel seen, supported, and confident as they progress. Students consistently describe her as accessible, encouraging, and deeply invested in their success.

Robin’s impact extends beyond individual advising relationships. As advisor to the NSSLHA Speech Club, she fosters an inclusive and collaborative community that promotes leadership development, professional identity, and shared purpose. Her mentorship continues beyond graduation, as she remains a trusted resource to alumni navigating graduate programs and early careers.

Robin Goldberg’s advising leaves a lasting imprint on her students, her department, and the broader Stonehill community.

And so, with deep pride, we confer the 2026 Award for Excellence in Advising & Mentoring to you, Professor Robin Goldberg, for your tireless service, consistent example, and exemplary contributions to Stonehill College.
