Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), the international business honor society, recently announced that Stonehill’s chapter earned Highest Honors status for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is the highest annual distinction possible for BGS chapters, which encourage academic achievement among students enrolled in business and management programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Professors of Finance Elif Sisli Ciamarra and Ginger Meng serve as faculty advisors for BGS at Stonehill.

“Receiving Highest Honors is especially meaningful because it reflects not only the academic excellence of our members, but also their leadership, initiative and commitment to supporting one another,” Ciamarra and Meng said in a joint statement. “We have been continually impressed by the dedication of our students and the positive community they have built within the chapter.”

The faculty members noted that student officers Mia Kenmore ’26, Thomas Forde ’26, Alexandra Tummino ’26 and Makayla Strickulis ’26 played a vital role in leading chapter activities and strengthening member engagement throughout the last academic year. One of their most significant accomplishments was organizing a fundraising initiative that raised more than $2,000 to support chapter programming, sponsor BGS’s annual induction dinner, provide graduation cords for members and help ensure that students could participate in Beta Gamma Sigma regardless of financial circumstances.

“Their efforts embody the values of Beta Gamma Sigma and demonstrate how academic achievement can be paired with leadership, service and a commitment to creating opportunities for others,” Ciamarra and Meng said. “We are incredibly proud to see their work recognized through this distinction.”

The chapter’s Highest Honors designation for the 2025–2026 academic year continues its sustained record of achievement. Since Ciamarra and Meng assumed advisory roles for BGS in 2019, the chapter has earned Highest Honors every academic year except 2024–2025, when it received High Honors.
