Welcome back, and welcome to our new students and faculty! This summer was an active one for the library; in our first bi-weekly library newsletter for the 2014-2015 academic year, you’ll find information about many of the projects, resources, and services that we worked on during the summer, as well as helpful links for the beginning of the semester.

The Brian J. Flynn Discovery & Collaboration Space

Over the summer, the Library renovated its classroom, room 116. In 2013 and 2014, the George I. Alden Trust and an anonymous donor each respectively awarded Stonehill College a grant for the renovation of the room. In addition to grant funding, the Library worked with Stonehill’s Department of Information Technology to fund the project. You can read more here about all of the people and organizations that contributed to the realization of the new space, dubbed the DisCo.

  • For additional information on the technology in the classroom, including instructions for its use, visit the Flynn DisCo LibGuide.
  • The LibGuide will continue to be updated as we receive feedback and determine additional applications for the classroom technology.

Library Hours

MacPhaidin Library, Archives, and the Center for Writing and Academic Achievement will be following new schedules during the 2014-2015 academic year.  Changes to hours were made based on review of student and faculty use of buildings and services with the goal of providing access equal to effective management of resources.
