Program director Michael Salé came to Stonehill College in 2007 as a part-time faculty member and was appointed to the full-time faculty in 2014. He brings with him vast experience in information technology management/consulting and multiple successes in helping organizations leverage IT systems to meet their strategic goals.

Professor Salé began his career as a senior project manager in the higher education software industry where he led the implementation of enterprise-level administrative software at hundreds of colleges and universities in the United States and overseas. He also owns his own consulting firm, which specializes in providing services to college and university information technology teams. His main teaching areas include data analytics, business intelligence, project management and software engineering.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Master of Professional Studies in Data Analytics program website. It is truly an exciting time in the field of data analytics. Never has data been so important to every industry around the world. Data is helping businesses gain a strategic edge, medicine develop cures and treatments for disease, and computer science design technology that makes our world a better and smarter place in which to live.

There is no question that data is ubiquitous and the exponential eruption of data is something that organizations cannot ignore. They must analyze this data in order to innovate and grow. What does this mean for you? It means that employers need a workforce that is well-versed in the techniques of data analysis. One Accenture study showed that over 90% of its clients have data analytics included in their strategic plans, but when they went to hire experienced employees, over half of the searches failed.

Our Master of Professional Studies in Data Analytics will teach you the skills your need to remain competitive and advance in this job market. Through this program, you will learn how to:

  • Identify a business problem or opportunity and how data analytics can be applied
  • Acquire, access, assay and prepare data for analysis
  • Conduct data analysis with regard security, privacy, and ethics
  • Interpret and communicate analysis results to stakeholders without bias

Upon completion of this program, you will also earn a SAS Academic Specialization. SAS is the world’s most widely used data analysis platform and your knowledge of this software will make you that much more competitive in industry.

We have designed this program to follow an executive cohort model. This flexible format allows you to earn the degree while continuing to work a full-time job. Classes meet on Friday evenings and Saturdays, approximately once per month. Less than half of the instruction for the program is delivered online. Tuition is comprehensive and includes meals and books. We have done everything we can to make this accelerated one-year program as easy as possible for the working professional.
