Internships not only make you more marketable as a job candidate, they also give you the opportunity to gain greater understanding and hands-on experience in a specific field. We offer opportunities for students of any major to put their classroom experiences to work – over the summer or during the school year.

Students have had the opportunity to explore their career interests in Boston, New York and Washington, D.C. while enhancing their networking skills and independently navigating their way around the city. These week-long intensive networking experience focuses on career exploration. Students will also learn about different careers and receive professional mentoring throughout the week.

Boston: The Boston Externship Program is a one-week career exploration and networking opportunity over the course of spring break in March and available to first-year students only.

New York: Each year, a small group of students (sophomores, juniors and seniors) are selected to travel to New York City and spend the week meeting with prestigious, successful alumni in a range of professional settings.

Washington, D.C.: Hill to Hill is a program for Stonehill students interested in a career in government, politics, non-profits and other organizations in Boston or Washington, D.C. Students conduct at least five informational interviews and/or job shadows in the Boston area then travel to Washington, D.C. for five additional informational interviews with Stonehill alumni living in the D.C. area.

Local Internships

Stonehill students can earn academic credit for completing internships. Most local internships are part time, but students also have the option to intern full time.

Intern Away
