Student Researchers Explore Power of Artificial Intelligence

A SURE project involving AI and edge computing offers undergraduate students a competitive advantage in a fast growing field.


The experience, available in all disciplines, helps to solidify and define students' career choices, both through graduate school decisions and in post-college employment. SURE 2024 research projects begin on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 and run through either Friday, July 26, 2024 (8 week session) or Friday, August 9, 2024 (10 week session). Stipends are paid to the SURE Scholars (at least $4,800 for the 8-week program and at least $6,000 for the 10-week program) and faculty mentors ($4,750 for 8-week program and $5,930 for 10 week program; plus $500 per additional SURE Scholar) and $500 to cover the cost of supplies and expenses directly connected with the research project.
