Educational Opportunities: Taking Courses at Stonehill

All eligible full-time and part-time employees may take undergraduate courses at Stonehill College, tuition-free (laboratory and other participation fees and text book costs are paid by the employee). Full-time employees may take up to 8 courses per year (2 courses per semester plus summer and intercession periods). Eligible part-time employees may take up to four courses per year (1 course per semester plus summer and intercession periods).

Southeastern Association for Cooperation in Higher Education in Massachusetts (SACHEM) Program

Stonehill employees can enroll in classes at other area colleges through the SACHEM Program. The SACHEM Program is a cooperative program which offers tuition remission reciprocity to the employees of the participating schools. The following schools currently participate in the SACHEM Program:  Bridgewater State College, Bristol Community College, Cape Cod Community College, Dean College, Wheaton College, UMASS/Dartmouth, Massasoit Community College, and Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Apply for this benefit by filling out the SACHEM application available in the Office of Human Resources.

Tuition Exchange Program

The Tuition Exchange Program is open to dependent children of eligible employees after 4 years of full-time employment. Eligible dependent children of employees may apply for a tuition scholarship at other institutions participating in the program.

The Tuition Exchange Program is administered by the Tuition Exchange Program, Inc., a not-for-profit organization based in Bethesda, MD.

Tuition Remission Program

The Tuition Remission Program is open to the spouse and dependent children of eligible employees after 4 years of employment at the College. Eligible dependent children of employees may apply for 100% tuition credit at Stonehill College or other participating Congregation of Holy Cross institutions.

Tuition Credit Program

The Tuition Credit Program is a limited tuition reimbursement program open to eligible full-time employees. The program provides an opportunity for employees to take graduate courses at Stonehill College and any other institution and have related educational expenses reimbursed. 

Full-time employees, after 1 year of employment, are eligible for monetary reimbursement for graduate studies of up to $5000 per year. This is a 100% credit for tuition and fees that are determined by the College to be directly related to tuition costs (this may include fees at state colleges).
