New National Honors Affirm Stonehill’s Excellence
Several of the most respected names in higher education have again judged Stonehill to be among the best colleges in the nation.
Building on its long history of national rankings and accolades, Stonehill College was recently honored by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report as one of the best colleges in the country.
The news comes on the heels of recent notification that Stonehill has been selected for inclusion in a national honor roll overseen by Colleges of Distinction, a trusted resource for more than 5 million students, parents, and guidance counselors.
“Stonehill College is a vibrant community of academic excellence, and our reputation is reflected in this distinction,” said Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs DeBrenna Agbényiga.
Fewer than 400 colleges and universities qualified for inclusion in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report's Best College listings. Eligible schools are ranked on measures of academic excellence, including graduation rates, selectivity and freshmen retention. In the category of National Liberal Arts Schools, Stonehill was ranked in the top 100.
In addition to this year’s ranking in the Liberal Arts category, Stonehill was also ranked in the top 100 in the Best Value category.
Similarly, Stonehill was listed in The Princeton Review’s “The Best 387 Colleges” guide for 2022 as one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduates.
Quotes from student surveys are included in the two-page Princeton Review profile on Stonehill academics and student life. One paragraph reads, “United in their values, the student body is ‘built on a structure of community rather than looking out for yourself.’ Just walking around, you’re ‘constantly seeing friendly faces around the close-knit campus,’ and it’s clear that people ‘have a sense of curiosity that sets them apart.’”
“These accolades affirm Stonehill’s commitment to rigorous academics as well as its focus on leadership development and experiential learning,” said Joseph P. Dacey, vice president for enrollment management at the College. “In countless ways, our faculty and advisors are inspiring students to build a more just and compassionate world.”
