Celebrating President's Cup Recipient Michael Keiran Leary '25
Vice President for Student Affairs Pauline Burke delivered remarks honoring the Stonehill senior during the 2025 Student Life Awards.
The President’s Cup is awarded to a senior whose Stonehill career exemplifies their commitment to intellectual excellence and service.
This year’s recipient is a dynamic individual who strives to help our community realize its vision of a more compassionate world. Since entering Stonehill as a transfer student, this person has demonstrated an innate drive to lead with heart.
As an ambassador for the Office of Undergraduate Admission, this student is often the first point of contact for those applying to Stonehill. This person is known for leading engaging campus tours that not only get high school students and their families excited about joining our community but also help put their minds at ease about navigating the enrollment process.
This community member recognizes the power of going the extra mile for others. Whether reviewing resumés as a Career Development ambassador or offering guidance to transfer students as a peer mentor, this person is always ready to help others access the tools needed to achieve their goals.
Besides supporting fellow students in academic and professional spaces, this person also shows up for other Skyhawks on the field during Club Baseball games. An exemplary teammate through and through, this student approaches each competition with a positive mindset, helping ensure that good sportsmanship is prioritized by all playing alongside him.
As one of the leaders of Student Alumni Association, this person has fortified the bridge between current Skyhawks and graduates from across Stonehill’s storied history. This student’s ability to foster meaningful connections has enabled our alumni to maintain an active role in campus life beyond graduation.
This enterprising student has embraced the transformative power of educational and extracurricular opportunities offered by the Meehan School of Business. Under this person’s stewardship, Stonehill’s chapter of DECA, a student organization for emerging entrepreneurs, has soared to new heights. In addition to bolstering the team’s roster, this student has helped expand the chapter’s footprint at conferences and competitions attended by students from around the world.
The nominations I received on this student’s behalf reflect his desire to leave the Stonehill community better than he found it. One submission noted that he “has proven himself to be an adept and talented servant leader, a dedicated scholar, a great athlete, a welcoming and empathetic friend, and an all-around great person.”
It is my distinct honor to present this year’s President’s Cup to Michael Keiran Leary.
Congratulations, Keiran!
