Career development nationally recognized for helping students launch careers
Colleges of Distinction award honors outstanding support for students’ post-graduation success.

Colleges of Distinction recently recognized Stonehill College for its exceptional commitment to preparing students for lifelong career success. As a recipient of the 2025-2026 Career Development badge, Stonehill has demonstrated a clear dedication to helping students translate their college experience into meaningful careers.
Earning a college degree is an important milestone, but a successful transition to the workforce requires more than a diploma, especially in the face of economic uncertainty. Institutions awarded the Career Development badge have shown that they offer the tools, resources, and guidance that make all the difference.
“Career services can often be treated as an afterthought, but not at Stonehill,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer at Colleges of Distinction. “Its approach to career development is deeply embedded in the student experience from day one through graduation.”
In awarding this recognition, Colleges of Distinction evaluates schools based on their delivery of career-centered programming in the following resources :
Students are connected with the Career Development team from Day 1 and are presented with the chance to develop their professional skills, explore career options and engage in internships, co-ops and research opportunities that align with their goals.
The office partners with academic departments to include their resources in the classroom and help guide students toward the services they should be seeking at different points throughout their academic career. Career and major exploration are integrated across all fields of study.
Career Development’s services can be accessed online 24/7 and by appointment for one-on-one counseling. Programs and training include self-assessments, resume and cover letter writing, and interviewing and networking skills development. The center also hosts events and workshops to help students receive feedback and job search skills.
There are many ways to engage with the career development. Advisors at the center offers both career and personal inventories to help students better understand themselves as well as their major and career interests. The center has a dedicated staff member for employer relations and corporate partnerships. Furthermore, Stonehill helps connect students and alumni through mentorship and internship programs. Many of these services are available to alumni throughout their careers.
