Adjunct Faculty Honored by Stonehill College
Professor Patricia Mason and Professor Brian McKenna recently received the institution’s Award for Excellence in Teaching by Adjunct Faculty.
Members of Stonehill’s academic community recently celebrated the meaningful work of two colleagues. During a ceremony held in Donahue Hall on Wednesday, December 3, Professor Patricia Mason of the Graduate Teacher Education program and Professor Brian McKenna of the Department of Healthcare Management received the Award for Excellence in Teaching by Adjunct Faculty. This recognition is given to part-time faculty who have had a profound impact on the educational experiences of Stonehill students.
Enhancing Engagement & Mastery
In a citation honoring Mason, President John Denning, C.S.C., and Vice President for Academic Affairs Peter Ubertaccio highlighted her “unwavering commitment to student learning, innovative instructional design, and dedication to authentic professional practice.”
“Her teaching reflects a deep understanding of how theory and practice intersect, ensuring that every student leaves her classroom prepared to make an impact,” they shared.
Dedication Beyond the Classroom
In a citation conferring McKenna’s award, President Denning and Vice President Ubertaccio referred to the faculty member as a “pillar of Stonehill’s Department of Healthcare Management.”
“He represents the program at admissions open houses, helps connect students with internships, and collaborates on curriculum updates to keep the major aligned with industry trends,” they noted. “His commitment to student success and program excellence exemplifies the highest standards of teaching and service.”
