Stonehill Ranks 36th in the Nation in Outcomes-Based Index

November 13, 2018

Stonehill graduates’ workforce preparedness and employability were recently recognized in a rankings report by Educate To Career (ETC). Out of 1,202 colleges and universities nationwide, Stonehill ranked 36th in the country.

ETC specializes in data-driven, outcome-focused tools that enable high school students and their parents to make informed, objective college and career-planning decisions.

The ETC College Rankings Index quantifies and compares each college's record for improving the labor market outcomes for its students. It is the only system that rates colleges by the "economic value added" benefit delivered to their graduates.  ETC defines economic value added as being the improvement in earnings and employability of graduates measured against the total cost of a four-year education.

Some of the metrics used in calculating the rankings include:

  • Percentage of graduates employed in occupations tied to their field of study
  • Average salary earned by recent graduates, by school for each major category (adjusted for region, occupation and other variables)
  • Percentage of alumni employed within one year of graduation (weighted on an occupational trend basis)
  • Major (weighted against national norms)
  • Number of years to graduate
  • Tuition/net cost
  • Loan default rates
