Stonehill has been named one of the “50 Most Underrated Schools” by Business Insider. The site compared US News' rankings of the best universities and national liberal arts colleges with PayScale's 2013-2014 College Salary Report, which ranks schools based on their graduates' mid-career salaries, for its rankings.
The College, whose graduates earn an average mid-career salary of $87,600 according to PayScale, tied for 41st on the Business Insider list. Stonehill jumped ten spots in the latest U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” rankings released in September, tying for 105th on the list of the top 236 National Liberal Arts Schools.
“We are always pleased when an independent organization recognizes the value of the Stonehill education. This ranking, which recognizes the economic success of many of our alumni, is another positive indication that a Stonehill degree is a strong investment,” said College spokesperson Martin McGovern.
In addition to this year’s ranking in the Liberal Arts category, Stonehill was included in US News’ unranked lists for “Freshman Retention Rate,” “Most Students Living in University Housing,” “Most Students Receiving Merit Aid,” “Most Students Studying Abroad,” and “A+ Colleges for B Students.”
Stonehill’s criminology program was ranked fourth in the nation by the college-ranking website College Factual, which USA Today regularly features in its higher education coverage. The College was also ranked among America’s top colleges by Forbes Magazine where it moved up 47 spots to 221 on its list of 630 schools.
