Meehan School of Business Students Earn Scholarships, Honors from Professional Organizations

Four students in Stonehill College’s Meehan School of Business were recently honored for their outstanding academic accomplishments.

In May, Daniel Pereira ’20 and Sarah Bessette ’21 were honored at the 2019 Massachusetts Society of CPAs (MSCPA) Believers & Achievers Recognition Reception. Pereira, an accounting major from Norton, Massachusetts, won a $2,500 scholarship from audit, tax and consulting company RSM. Bessette, a finance major from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, won a $2,500 scholarship from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). This summer, Pereira is interning at John Hancock Financial Services in Boston, and Bessette is interning at Liberty Mutual in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The Boston Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI), an association for senior-level financial executives, held its annual Academic Awards Night at the Harvard Business School in April. There, Ashley Daggett ’19 received an Outstanding Senior Award in recognition of her academic performance, leadership and extracurricular activities. The Attleboro, Massachusetts, native will begin her career at PwC this summer.

The Southern New England Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors held its annual Student Night at the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. At that event, Alyson Litwin ’20, an accounting major from Colchester, Connecticut, was honored as an Outstanding Auditing Student in recognition of her high academic standing. Litwin will spend the summer interning at Travelers in Hartford, Connecticut.
