Monday Morning Update

In lieu of a traditional weekly Monday Morning Update, we are proud to announce the College's 68th Commencement Honorees, as well as this year's Commencement Speaker, Heather Abbott '96. Meet them below.

HEATHER ABBOTT '96: is a Boston Marathon bombing survivor and philanthropist who was impacted by the blast of the bombing and lost her leg. Since then, Abbott has devoted herself to helping others who have suffered limb loss through traumatic circumstances and, to that end, in 2015 she founded the Heather Abbott Foundation.

REV. THOMAS O'HARA, C.S.C.: is the former president of King’s College and a former Provincial Superior of the United States Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross. A former member of the Board of Trustees at the University of Notre Dame, Stonehill, and King's College, he will receive an honorary Doctor of Theology.

DR. CAROLYN WOO: currently serves as the President’s Fellow for Global Development at Purdue University, after retiring in 2016 as President and CEO of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. She will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.
