PAN AMERICAN COACH: Congratulations to Ed Cooley ’94 who has been chosen to coach USA Basketball at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru this summer. A recipient of Stonehill’s Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2011, Cooley, the coach of the PC Friars men’s basketball team, is honored to be representing his country on the world’s stage. REMEMBERING ROBERT GOULET: Professor Emeritus of English Robert Goulet, the pioneer of film studies at Stonehill, died unexpectedly on December 29. After teaching at the College for 44 years, during which time he made major contributions to the English department, he retired in 2012. THREE-YEAR REIGN: All-American forward Kacie Smith '19 has been named the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II East Region Player of the Year for the third-straight season. Smith led Division II for the second-straight year with 74 points and 32 goals this fall, while leading the team with ten assists.  Get the details here.

REMEMBERING JOHN SCHATZEL: Accounting Professor John Schatzel, C.P.A., died unexpectedly on December 31. An innovator in his field and in the classroom, Schatzel was known for the heavy workloads he assigned as well as his intense preparation and commitment. See our tribute here.
