Monday Morning Update

October 29, 2018

MAY SCHOOL DEDICATED: This past Thursday, the Thomas and Donna May School of Arts & Sciences was formally dedicated. Thomas '69 and Donna '70 have been longtime, generous supporters of the College and our students, faculty, and staff. Take a look and learn more here.

COMPASSIONATE LEADERSHIP: As Stonehill launches a major, master's degree, and 4+1 degree program in special education, experiential learning opportunities like Camp Shriver embody the culture that will set those programs apart. Learn more about the program here.

BIRD LAND: Did you know that there have been at least 117 species of birds seen on the Stonehill campus in recent years? With the help of his students, Biology Professor Nick Block, an ornithologist, has been keeping track of our bird diversity since 2014. See a full list here.

CHURCH IN CRISIS: As Catholics grapple with some of the biggest challenges facing the Church in recent history, Stonehill, as a Catholic college, is launching a series of open forums for lively, thoughtful and thought-provoking conversations on ways of healing and reforming the institution. Titled Church in Crisis the first panel will be held on Tuesday, November 8. Check out the panel details here.

SONS OF SERENDIP RETURN: “Our Stonehill concert is always a highlight of our year! Since our time on America's Got Talent, we've received so much support from Stonehill and from the greater South Shore community. It always feels like a homecoming! What's exciting about this concert in particular is that we'll be kicking the night off with Stonehill's premier co-ed a cappella group, 'Surround Sound.' They are fantastic! And with Thanksgiving around the corner, we're hoping this concert will help us all to get into the spirit of the season!” – Micah Christian ’06
