Recently wrapping up its tenth annual trip, the "Stonehill in DC" program has been an invaluable experience for students looking to get an inside look at politics. During this year's two-week trip, eight students traveled with Director of the Martin Institute Peter Ubertaccio and met with several Stonehill alumni working in DC, Massachusetts Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, as well as many political experts.

The students who took part in this year's trip included: Austin Alfredson '15, John Paul Ataide '14, Matthew Guresh '14, Sergio Jameson '16, Larissa Chassman '14, Kaitlyn Parsley '15, Melissa Ulcena '14, and Matthew  Suckow '16.

One of the highlights from this year's trip was the groups visit to the White House to meet with David Simas '92, head of President Obama's new Office of Political Strategy and Outreach.

Throughout their two weeks in DC, Ubertaccio and his students tweeted about their experiences. Below is a recap of the trip via Twitter.
