“One Skyhawk’s Trash is Another Skyhawk’s Treasure: A Look into the Stonehill Buy Nothing Community”

A group of Stonehill students has launched a sustainability initiative that perfectly aligns with the theme of Earth Day 2022 – “Invest in Our Planet”.

Students in Professor Sue Mooney's Honors Environmental Ethics class are striving to create a lively and engaging “Buy Nothing Community “at Stonehill College.

The “Buy Nothing” movement is a community-driven project with the ultimate goals of reducing waste and encouraging the community to shop second hand. By joining the Stonehill Buy Nothing Community, you have the option to list items you no longer want or request certain items to see if someone else has them.

Getting started is as simple as downloading the Buy Nothing app and creating an account. Check out the Stonehill Buy Nothing Community’s Instagram for a tutorial walking you through the account set up, as well as additional information.

If you have specific questions about the project, please DM their Instagram, or leave a comment on a post. They’ll will get back to you as soon as possible.
