Creating a Legacy

Class of 1970

During their 45th reunion in 2015, the Class of 1970 decided to create a class scholarship to fulfill their desire to make a difference at Stonehill. The Class of 1970 Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of deceased classmates and create a legacy for the Class of 1970 at Stonehill.

The Class of 1970 Memorial Scholarship Committee was formed in 2015 and fundraising began that year with the plan to award the scholarship in 2020 at the Class of 1970’s 50th reunion.

Kelly Trayers, Class of 2021 is the inaugural Class of 1970 Memorial Scholarship recipient. She recorded the video below to express her gratitude to those who made the scholarship possible.

About the Scholarship

The scholarship will make a difference for a rising senior who is academically in good standing; and with demonstrated financial need. Factors for award consideration could be a first-generation college student, a legacy (child/grandchild) of a member of the Class of 1970, a student who has financially contributed to his own college education or is involved in college activities. This scholarship will be allocated annually (as funds allow) with the Alumni Council Scholarship Committee overseeing the administration.
