As the sun set on September 19, 2019, the College dedicated its new School of Business building, which is named in honor of trustee and alumnus Leo J. Meehan ’75, President and CEO of W. B. Mason—the third-largest office products company in the United States.

Close to 400 members of the Stonehill community attended the event, which included a formal ribbon-cutting, a blessing by President John Denning, C.S.C., student-guided tours of the new building, and music by The Buzz, a classic, high-energy rock band comprised of five alumni.

The three-story Meehan building lies at the center of the campus quad and is designed to enhance the College’s already strong business programs with cutting-edge technologies and adaptive, modern classrooms and collaboration spaces.

Costing $35 million and covering 63,450 square feet, the building is home to 34 faculty members in accounting, finance, international business, management, marketing, economics, and healthcare administration.

Everything we do at the College is focused on providing our students with rigorous, in-depth, and high-impact learning experiences and the Meehan building enhances our ability to do just that. Now that we have settled into our new home, the energy and enthusiasm for learning I see from the faculty and students who spend their days here is incredible. Our focus is on using the new tools available in the Meehan Building to ensure our students go on to become talented, successful and ethical business leaders.

#GivingTuesday

December 3, 2019
Over the past six years, #GivingTuesday has become a touchstone in our fundraising efforts and the impact of this one day of giving is felt year-round. Your gifts sustain scholarships, co-curricular and service opportunities, athletics and other academic activities that cultivate the minds and hearts of our students.

Stonehill donors from across the country recently rallied to ensure a successful #GivingTuesday, raising $168,519 for the College. Big thanks to our alumni, students, faculty, trustees, staff, parents, friends, and Holy Cross priests for their generosity and support for supporting student scholarships, the Meehan School of Business, and other key initiatives.

Save the date for the upcoming #GivingTuesday on December 1, 2020!

Stonehill Day of Light and Hope

Stonehill Day of Light and Hope

From May 14-15, 2020, we invited alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends of the College to join us in a celebration of light and hope.

We hosted virtual events, including a CommUNITY 5K, and incorporated photo challenges, and acts of solidarity for Stonehill to encourage our community members to give light and hope.

The Stonehill CommUNITY 5K raised $10,894 from 272 runners/walkers, sponsors, and virtual cheerleaders. More than 370 messages and 229 photos were shared. Overall, $100,153 was raised from 660 donors through the Stonehill Day of Light and Hope.

Scholarship Giving

Stonehill is committed to supporting students who are academically-deserving, and who have demonstrated financial need.

While COVID-19 canceled the Annual Benefactor & Student Scholarship Dinner in April, two of our student scholars recorded their messages of gratitude.
