Stonehill College is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded land of the Wampanoag people, or People of the First Light. This land was first known as Stone House Hill and Stone House Plain. Stone House Hill, from which Stonehill College derives its name, is part of the Wampanoag tribe’s homeland. We acknowledge the history of Indigenous peoples and the dispossession of their lands. We pay our respects to the Wampanoag people who have stewarded this land throughout generations and honor their continued presence here and throughout their diaspora.
