Stonehill to Host Nationally Televised Football Game

October 5, 2012

For the second time in less than a year, a Stonehill athletic program will be featured on national television, as the Skyhawks will host the University of New Haven Chargers on Thursday Night Football on October 18. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network, the same channel that spotlighted Stonehill's basketball program in the Men's Division II Final Four from Kentucky early this year.

The Skyhawks are 3-3 this season with a match-up scheduled against Merrimack this Saturday at noon. New Haven, entering the week of Oct. 8, was ranked fifth in the nation, and sits in a three-way tie atop the Northeast-10 with Bentley and AIC. The Chargers are undefeated at 5-0.

CBS Sports Network reaches over 99 million people across the country and airs collegiate sports from across all three NCAA divisions. The network has ties with professional sports as well, and provides over ten hours per week of football coverage, including their weekly Thursday night spotlight of Division II football.
