Presidential Search: Dates Set for Public Sessions with Finalists

March 12, 2013

Dear Members of the Stonehill Community:

As you know, the Presidential Search Committee has invited the Rev. John Denning, C.S.C. and the Rev. David Tyson, C.S.C., the two finalists who are seeking to serve as Stonehill's tenth president, to participate in meetings with senior leadership and for public sessions with the broader College community. I am pleased to announce the times and locations for their public sessions.

• Fr. Denning's public sessions will be in Alumni Hall on Wednesday, April 10 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. and on Thursday, April 11 in the Martin Auditorium, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

• Fr. Tyson's public sessions will be in the Martin Institute on Wednesday, April 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. and on Thursday, April 11 in Alumni Hall, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

On behalf of the Presidential Search Committee, I urge everyone to hear these two fine candidates first-hand and to learn about their ideas for Stonehill's future. Please know that your voice matters and will be heard.

At the sessions, the candidates will make an introductory statement and then take questions and comments from the audience. A member of the Presidential Search Committee will facilitate the sessions and collect candidate evaluation forms. Please consider filling out those forms as they will be used by the Search Committee as it assess the two finalists and makes a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

After their follow-up interviews with the candidates, the Search Committee will meet again to deliberate and forward its recommendation to the Board of Trustees, for its next meeting on May 18th.

In an earlier announcement, we provided brief bios of the two candidates. As the public sessions approach, we have additional information on each candidate to share. To learn more about Fr. Denning, visit here and for more on Fr. Tyson, visit here.

As we move forward, please know that your interest in the presidential search and your support of the Search Committee is appreciated. In addition, the Committee is grateful to all the candidates for their participation in this process and for their willingness to serve the College.
