Timber! Transforms Stonehill’s Carole Calo Gallery

November 14, 2016

Timber!, the latest exhibit presented at Stonehill College's Carole Calo Gallery, features the work of Sandra Allen, Stacey Cushner, Gary Duehr, Tory Fair, Jill Grimes, Philippe Lejeune, and Serena Perrone.

The unique exhibition, which runs from November 7th - December 9th, explores the complexity of trees and the transformation of wood. It takes nature out of context, with paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculpture that chronicle the relationship between a tree’s life and destruction, memorializing the remains that are left behind.

Join us, and explore how aspect of wood can symbolize both life and death: how the extraordinary texture of bark, the mysterious shape of a branch, or a complex network of roots can represent the all-encompassing natural beauty of the environment all around us.

The gallery is free and open to all weekdays between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. For more information, please contact Gallery Director Candice Smith Corby at csmithcorby@stonehill.edu.
