Course Overview
The basic elements of interpersonal communication, with special emphasis on developing knowledge and skills applicable to face-to face interactions between individuals. The class facilitates an exploration of verbal and nonverbal communication.
Course Advantages
Everyone communicates, but not everyone communicates well. Why not? What makes the difference, and why are listening and empathy so important when communicating? This course tries to answer those questions while also reflecting on how race, gender, culture, friends and family influence the way we communicate within one-on-one communication settings. The hope is that you will leave the course with a better understanding of interpersonal communication along with some tools that can help you be more successful communicators in your personal lives.
