This course will explore various elements of the professional sports industry. Students will examine aspects that span the entire industry, as well as study the development and current challenges of the most significant and relevant leagues.

About the Instructor

Annemarie Farrell

Associate Professor of Sport Management
Associate Professor of Sport Management Annemarie Farrell joined the Stonehill College community in 2024. Her primary research and teaching area centers on sport marketing, sales, and sport consumer behavior, with a keen interest in classroom pedagogical strategies regarding sales skill development. Many of her courses focus on the connection between sport marketing practices and sociology, focusing on the ways fan motivation and consumer behavior reflect economic, cultural, and attitudinal developments in society at large. She has researched and presented on spectator motivations regarding women’s sports, notably among female sport fans.
