Matt Gorman '11 named to the American Association of Political Consultants' “40 Under 40” list

The American Association of Political Consultants recently announced that political science major Matt Gorman '11 has been named to its “40 Under 40” list, which recognizes leaders and innovators in the political business community.


Gorman is an Executive Vice President at Targeted Victory, where he leads the firm’s strategic communications vertical, bringing over a decade of experience advising presidential candidates, members of Congress, and Fortune 50 companies on storytelling, media training, and managing crises. A veteran of three presidential campaigns, he most recently served as a senior advisor to Tim Scott for America. Before that, he was the Communications Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, where he was named to POLITICO Playbook’s Power List. Gorman also served as Rapid Response Director and National Spokesman for Jeb Bush’s 2016 presidential campaign, as well as an aide on Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign. Gorman regularly appears on television and in print as a political analyst, offering insights on politics and issues of the day. In 2024, he was named a Pritzker Fellow at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics.
