Students who complete their undergraduate degree at Stonehill College and meet program requirements will be offered direct-entry admission to the Simmons Master of Science in Nursing Program. Four students from Stonehill who meet the program requirements will be eligible for this affiliation agreement. Although Simmons College is an all-female institution at the undergraduate level, the School of Nursing and Health Sciences is coeducational and thus this agreement is open to men and women.

Qualifications

  • Anticipated successful completion of bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College before beginning the Direct Entry Nursing program in the Fall
  • A minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.00 at all post-secondary institutions attended
  • Completion of prerequisite courses with no more than two prerequisite courses left to take in the spring semester of the senior year
    • All prerequisite courses must have been completed (or in the process of being completed) within ten years prior to the application deadline; all science courses must include labs. Audited, pass/fail courses, CLEP, IB, or AP (Advanced Placement) scores are not acceptable since calculation of a G.P.A. is necessary. A failed/repeated course must be included in the G.P.A. calculation.
      • MTH 225 – Statistics of Science, MTH 145 – Basic Quantitative Techniques, PSY 261 – Introduction to Statistics, BUS 206 – Quantitative Analysis, OR MTH 207 – Statistical Reasoning: Chance
      • PSY 201 – Developmental Psychology I & PSY 203 – Developmental Psychology II
        A minimum cumulative science GPA of 3.30 in the following prerequisite lab courses taken at Stonehill or another U.S. college or university:
      • BIO 103/203 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab
      • BIO 104/204 – Human Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab
      • BIO 309 – Microbiology with Lab
      • CHM 113 – General Chemistry I with Lab OR CHM 232 – General Chemistry II with Lab
      • CHM 221 – Organic Chemistry I with Lab
  • Submission of all application materials by the Simmons College deadline
