Regis College and Stonehill College have arranged for the preferred admission of Stonehill students to earn acceptance into the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program at Regis College. The program program will provide you with the skills you need to become an effective practitioner, prepared to meet the increasing demand for qualified mental health counselors to serve in hospitals, social service agencies, mental health centers and private companies.

  • Preferred admission without the competition of the rest of the applicant pool for qualified applicants
  • Students may take two (2) free cross registration graduate level courses at Regis during the junior and/or senior year for Stonehill credit prior to acceptance into the program (course must be pre-approved by Regis program-specific program director and Stonehill academic advisor prior to enrollment)
  • Option to delay enrolling in the MA program for up to two (2) years if accepted in the senior year

Qualifications

  • Must notify the Stonehill contact person listed below by February 1 if intending to apply to the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program
  • Anticipated successful completion of bachelor’s degree from Stonehill in May of the senior year
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 at Stonehill
  • Completion of the following four (4) prerequisite courses and having earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in each course:
    • PSY 101 General Psychology
    • PSY 201 Developmental Psychology I
    • PSY 207 Abnormal Psychology
    • PSY 261 Introduction to Statistics
  • Submission of all application materials by the published Regis College deadline, or July 1, for entry into the term beginning the next fall
  • Students completing their bachelor’s degree from Stonehill in December of their senior year are eligible to apply for Spring admission, following respective deadlines
